BlueJeans

San Jose, CA, United States Software & Services Acquired

BlueJeans was a cloud-based video conferencing and unified communications platform. Founded in 2009 as BlueJeans Network, it provided enterprise-grade video meetings, webinars, and collaboration features. The company was acquired by Verizon in 2020 for approximately $400 million and rebranded as BlueJeans by Verizon. Despite initial recognition as a Visionary in the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Meeting Solutions, the service faced intense competition from Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. Verizon announced in August 2023 that the platform would be shut down in the first half of 2024, focusing instead on core priorities including 5G and wireless services.
