BrewDog

Ellon, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, United Kingdom Consumer Goods & Services Acquired

BrewDog is a Scottish craft beer brand founded in 2007 by James Watt and Martin Dickie in Ellon, Aberdeenshire. It grew through seven Equity for Punks crowdfunding rounds that raised about GBP 75m from more than 200,000 retail shareholders, and a 2017 minority investment from TSG Consumer Partners that valued it at about GBP 1bn. After years of losses the UK and Ireland business entered administration on 2 March 2026; Tilray Brands bought the brand, the Ellon brewery and 11 bars for GBP 33m, closing 38 others, and agreed to buy the US assets later that month.
