Canary also sells premium service plans and 24/7 professional monitoring. Founded in New York City in 2012, Canary took a controlling investment from IoT company Smartfrog in October 2018; the Canary products and certain assets are now owned by Arlo Technologies, Inc., with Canary Connect, Inc. operating the service.
