Coda is an all-in-one collaborative document and productivity software platform that combines the flexibility of documents, the structure of spreadsheets, the power of applications, and AI into a single surface. Founded in 2014 by Shishir Mehrotra (a former YouTube chief product officer and Microsoft executive) along with co-founders, Coda lets teams build interactive docs that can act as lightweight applications, with building blocks, automations, and integrations. The company also developed AI features including Coda Docs and Coda Brain. Coda was acquired by AI productivity company Grammarly, with the deal announced in December 2024 and completed in January 2025; Mehrotra became CEO of Grammarly.
