Deposit Solutions

Hamburg, Germany Fintech Acquired

Deposit Solutions was a Hamburg-based fintech that operated a B2B open-banking platform for retail savings deposits. Founded in 2011 by Dr. Tim Sievers, the company allowed banks to gather third-party retail deposits and offer third-party savings products to their own customers without having them switch accounts. Its platform served over 150 partner banks (including Deutsche Bank, MunchenerHyp, Close Brothers and Atom Bank) and operated consumer-facing brands ZINSPILOT and SaveBetter. Deposit Solutions reached unicorn status in September 2019 after Deutsche Bank acquired a ~5% stake at a $1.1B valuation. In June 2021, Deposit Solutions merged with German rival Raisin to form Raisin DS, a pan-European/transatlantic savings and investments marketplace.
