Enevate develops and licenses silicon-dominant lithium-ion battery technology - the XFC-Energy and HD-Energy platforms - using silicon films deposited on copper foil to deliver five-minute fast charging and high energy density for electric vehicles, aviation, defense and consumer devices. Founded in 2005 as a UC Irvine spin-out (originally Carbon Micro Battery), Enevate Corporation was liquidated in 2026 after raising roughly $191 million. An affiliate of Quantum Valley Investments bought its 650-plus patent portfolio and Irvine laboratory, and the technology is now held and licensed by a small successor company, Enevate Technologies Corporation, led by founder Dr. Benjamin Park.
