eRoad Software

Auckland, New Zealand Software Public

eRoad is a New Zealand-headquartered fleet telematics, compliance and electronic road user charging (RUC) software company that serves commercial vehicle fleets across New Zealand, Australia and North America. Founded in 2000 by infrastructure economist Brian Michie, the company commercialised the world's first nationwide GNSS-based electronic road user charging system in New Zealand in 2009 and subsequently expanded into broader fleet management, ELD compliance, driver safety and tolling solutions. eRoad listed on the NZX in August 2014 (NZX:ERD), dual-listed on the ASX in September 2020 (ASX:ERD), and acquired Auckland-based competitor Coretex in December 2021 to accelerate growth in North America. After a multi-year takeover process that began with a stake-build by Constellation Software's Volaris Group in 2023, eRoad was taken private via a scheme of arrangement in late 2024 and delisted from both the NZX and ASX. The company continues to operate as a Volaris Group business with more than 100,000 connected vehicles globally.
