Gro Intelligence

New York, NY, USA Agri-Food & Climate Analytics Acquired

Gro Intelligence was a New York- and Nairobi-based AI analytics platform founded in 2014 by former Morgan Stanley commodities trader Sara Menker. It structured global agricultural, weather, trade and financial data into decision tools for governments, asset managers and corporates, and was named to TIME's 100 Most Influential Companies in 2021. Gro raised over $115M, peaking at a reported ~$850M valuation after its January 2021 Series B. It missed payroll in February 2024, replaced Menker, cut 60% of staff, and ceased operations on 31 May 2024; Almanac bought its IP, data and brand out of liquidation in November 2024.
