Happn

Paris, France Consumer Internet Acquired

Happn is a Paris-based location-based mobile dating application founded in 2014 by Didier Rappaport, Fabien Cohen, and Antony Cohen. The app displays profiles of nearby individuals encountered during users' daily routines, allowing them to like profiles anonymously and message only upon mutual interest, mimicking serendipitous real-world encounters. By 2025 Happn had over 150 million registered users across more than 75 countries, with particular traction in France, Brazil, Turkey, and India. In September 2025, Happn was acquired by Hello Group, the Chinese social and dating operator behind Momo and Tantan, for an undisclosed sum.
