Harrington Brooks was a UK-based consumer debt advice and debt management firm founded in 1998 and headquartered in Sale, Greater Manchester (historically described as Sale, Cheshire). The business provided debt management plans (DMPs), individual voluntary arrangements (IVAs), debt relief orders, bankruptcy guidance and related non-lending consumer financial advice, and at its peak employed more than 400 staff. After private equity ownership by Inflexion (exited 2012) and RJD Partners, Harrington Brooks Group Ltd and several affiliates (Harrington Brooks Ltd, One Advice Ltd, HB Financial Solutions Ltd, Open-Door (Legal Services) Ltd) were placed into administration on 11 April 2018 with Deloitte LLP appointed as joint administrators. The businesses were sold out of administration to Think Money Group on 13 April 2018; the DMP portfolio was migrated to Think Money subsidiary Gregory Pennington and the IVA portfolio to Freeman Jones. Think Money subsequently consolidated Gregory Pennington, Freeman Jones and Wilson Andrews under a single brand, Financial Wellness Group. The harringtonbrooks.co.uk domain is now operated by Financial Wellness Group as a legacy customer login portal; Harrington Brooks no longer trades as an independent operating company.
