Hockeystick is a Toronto-based private market data and software platform that provides deep insight into private companies and connects a firm's financial data directly to venture capital, private equity and innovation ecosystems. Founded in 2014 by Raymond Luk and Clint Sieunarine, the company built a SaaS platform that lets startups securely share financial and operational data with investors, and lets accelerators, government innovation agencies, VC firms and PE funds collect, standardize and benchmark portfolio data. Hockeystick acquired Waterloo-based LaunchSpot in 2017 to extend its operations tooling for accelerators, and partnered with the Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (CVCA) and the Lazaridis Institute to power national-scale ecosystem data platforms. The company was acquired by Toronto-based startup advisory firm Flow (Flow Ventures) and folded into Flow's offerings; Flow itself was subsequently acquired by Deloitte Canada in early 2024, with founder Raymond Luk joining Deloitte as a senior advisor.
