Hyla Mobile

Irving, TX, United States Mobile Device Trade-In & Reverse Logistics Acquired

Hyla Mobile (formerly eRecyclingCorps) is a US-based provider of smartphone trade-in, upgrade and reverse-logistics technology. The company offers a software-as-a-service platform and patented technology used by mobile carriers, retailers and OEMs to power consumer device trade-in programs, including remote valuation without in-person inspection, device processing, refurbishment and redistribution to secondary markets. Founded in 2009 as eRecyclingCorps by former RadioShack CEO David Edmondson and former Sprint PCS CEO Ron LeMay, the company was rebranded HYLA Mobile and grew to service trade-in programs for many of the world's largest tier-one wireless carriers. Hyla was acquired by Assurant in late 2020 in a deal valued at approximately $325 million and now operates as part of Assurant's Connected Living business.
