Isovalent

Cupertino, CA, USA Cloud Infrastructure Acquired

Isovalent is the company founded by the creators of Cilium and eBPF, building open-source and enterprise software for cloud-native networking, observability and security. Its flagship Cilium project leverages the Linux kernel's eBPF technology to provide highly scalable connectivity, deep flow-level observability (via Hubble), and policy-driven security for Kubernetes and multicloud environments. Isovalent also created Tetragon, an eBPF-based runtime security solution. The company sells Isovalent Enterprise for Cilium and Tetragon to large enterprises including Adobe, Capital One, Datadog, GitLab, Bell Canada and others. Google selected Cilium as the dataplane for GKE Dataplane V2. Isovalent was acquired by Cisco in April 2024 (deal announced December 2023) for a reported ~$650M in cash, and its team joined the Cisco Security Business Group to anchor Cisco's Security Cloud and multicloud networking strategy.
