Jet achieved $1 billion in gross merchandise value run-rate within its first year and amassed a growing customer base primarily among urban and millennial shoppers. The company was acquired by Walmart for $3.3 billion in August 2016, completing in September 2016. Walmart integrated Jet's operations and continued the brand until May 19, 2020, when Jet.com was discontinued and customers were directed to Walmart.com.
