Loship was a Vietnamese one-hour on-demand delivery and hyperlocal e-commerce platform operated by parent company Lozi. Founded by Trung Hoang Nguyen, Lozi started in 2012 as a food review and discovery app for millennials, pivoted to a C2C e-commerce marketplace in 2015, and launched the Loship delivery service in late 2017. At its peak Loship offered up to 11 on-demand verticals including food, groceries, ride-hailing, laundry, medicine, and B2B wholesale supply, with a fleet of more than 70,000 drivers serving roughly 2 million customers and 200,000 merchants across five Vietnamese cities. The company raised funding from international investors including Smilegate Investment, Hana Financial Group, BAce Capital, Sun Hung Kai & Co., Vulpes Investment Management, Golden Gate Ventures, and Skype co-founder Jaan Tallinn's MetaPlanet Holdings, reaching a reported $100 million valuation in 2021 and publicly targeting a 2024 NYSE listing. After failing to close a planned $50 million Series C amid the 2022 funding downturn, Loship reportedly pivoted to seek debt financing and ultimately ceased operations in late 2024 as Vietnam's food delivery market consolidated around ShopeeFood and GrabFood.
