Novelda is a Norwegian ultra-wideband (UWB) radar sensor business specialising in low-power impulse radar for human presence detection. It develops System-on-Chip solutions and modules for proximity sensing, presence detection and vital-sign monitoring across consumer electronics, smart buildings, automotive and IoT applications. Founded in 2004 on University of Oslo research, Novelda AS filed for bankruptcy in November 2024; the Trondheim health-technology company Vitalthings AS bought the bankruptcy estate and now operates the UWB radar line, which it also uses in its own patient-monitoring products.
