PepperFry

Mumbai, India E-commerce Acquired

Pepperfry is an Indian online marketplace for furniture and home goods, founded in July 2011 by Ambareesh Murty and Ashish Shah (both former eBay India executives) and launched commercially in January 2012. Headquartered in Mumbai, the company operates an asset-light managed marketplace model connecting consumers with thousands of merchants across India, supplemented by an omnichannel network of experiential 'Studio Pepperfry' showrooms and a proprietary big-box logistics arm (Pepcart Logistics). Pepperfry sells furniture, home decor, lamps, kitchenware, furnishings, and modular kitchen and wardrobe solutions. After the death of co-founder and CEO Ambareesh Murty in August 2023, co-founder Ashish Shah was elevated to CEO. In September 2025 BSE-listed TCC Concept announced a definitive agreement to acquire up to 100% of Pepperfry via share swap; the transaction closed in Q3 FY26 with TCC Concept taking a 98.98% stake for approximately INR 661.47 crore.
