Perch is a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based sports technology company that uses 3D computer vision and machine learning to track athlete strength training in the weight room. Founded in 2016 by three MIT athletes (Jacob Rothman, Jordan Lucier, and Nate Rodman), Perch's rack-mounted camera and tablet system provides automated, hardware-free tracking of barbell speed, bar path, power output, jumps, and bodyweight movements without requiring wearable sensors. The platform supports velocity-based training (VBT) programs and serves NCAA and professional teams across football, basketball, and other sports including the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baylor Bears men's basketball, and the North Carolina Tar Heels. In June 2025 Perch was acquired by ASX-listed athlete performance company Catapult Group International for an enterprise value of approximately US$18 million plus an earn-out of up to US$10 million.
