Founded in 2006 by Tom Bennett and Marcus Engene and headquartered in New York City, Pond5 grew into one of the world's largest video marketplaces, with a contributor network of over 115,000 active contributors across 180 countries uploading over 2.5 million assets each month. Customers include Netflix, Disney, NBC, BBC, Discovery Channel and The Wall Street Journal. Pond5 was acquired by Shutterstock in May 2022 for $210 million in cash.
