The company developed integrated heterogeneous compute chiplets combining RISC-V RVA23 server-class CPUs with proprietary General-Purpose GPUs (DPA - Data Parallel Accelerator), targeting AI inference and data analytics workloads. Rivos was founded in 2021 by industry veterans from Google, Intel, and Apple with support from Walden Catalyst, and was acquired by Meta in October 2025.
