RocketSpace

San Francisco, CA, United States Real Estate Acquired

RocketSpace was a San Francisco-based technology campus and coworking community founded in 2011 by Duncan Logan. The company specialized in providing scalable workspace, programs and corporate innovation services for funded technology startups and corporate clients. Membership was limited to tech companies that had raised at least one round of financing, and over its lifetime RocketSpace incubated more than 15 unicorn alumni, including Uber and Spotify. Backed by a $336M Series B strategic investment from China's HNA Group in 2016, the company pursued an ambitious global expansion plan into the UK, China, Australia and Canada. After the HNA partnership unwound and revenue collapsed, RocketSpace closed its UK operations in late 2019, shut its 123 Mission Street San Francisco flagship in mid-2020, and CEO Duncan Logan announced the company would wind down operations in 2020.
