Sapeon is an AI semiconductor company that designs high-performance, energy-efficient neural processing units (NPUs) for data centers and edge applications. Spun off from SK Telecom's R&D organization and backed by SK Group, it developed Korea's first data-center AI chip in 2020 and launched the X330 accelerator in 2023, serving media, security, smart factory, mobility, and healthcare customers. In late 2024, Sapeon Korea merged with Rebellions to form a Korean AI chip unicorn.
