Soft Robotics

Bedford, MA, USA Robotics Acquired

Soft Robotics Inc. developed soft robotic grippers and AI-enabled machine vision technology for automation in food processing, consumer goods, and logistics. Born out of George M. Whitesides' lab at Harvard, the company's mGrip family of compliant finger grippers enabled robots to handle delicate or variable items at scale. In August 2024 Soft Robotics divested its flexible gripping product assets (mGrip patents, configurations, and know-how) to Germany's Schmalz Group, and the remaining business reformed as Oxipital AI, focusing on AI-enabled machine vision for robotic process automation and product inspection.
