Solar Mosaic (operating as Mosaic Sustainable Finance) was a residential solar and home improvement lending platform founded in 2010 in Oakland, California. It launched as a crowdfunding marketplace for commercial solar projects and pivoted in 2014 to point-of-sale loans for residential solar, battery storage and sustainable home improvements, funding over $15 billion of loans to more than 500,000 households. Mosaic filed for Chapter 11 in June 2025; after an auction drew no acceptable bids, its confirmed plan went effective in September 2025, transferring the loan servicing business to Solar Servicing LLC, a Forbright Bank subsidiary, while the remaining estate winds down.
