Houston, TX Energy Software Acquired

Tachyus is a Houston-based energy software company whose Data Physics technology combines machine learning with reservoir physics to model and optimize oil and gas reservoirs. Its Aqueon platform supports reservoir management and optimization of waterfloods and enhanced oil recovery projects, and its Aurion platform handles greenhouse gas emissions accounting, forecasting and reporting. Founded in 2013 by Dakin Sloss, Francisco Leport and Paul Orland in Silicon Valley before relocating to Houston, the company was backed by Founders Fund and Cottonwood Venture Partners. In May 2026 SLB agreed to acquire Tachyus to integrate its technology into the Delfi and Lumi platforms.
