Tile, Inc. is an American consumer electronics company that produces Bluetooth-enabled tracking devices users attach to belongings such as keys, wallets, and bags to locate lost items via a companion mobile app for iOS and Android. The app uses Bluetooth Low Energy to find Tiles within range and a crowdsourced 'Find Network' to locate items beyond Bluetooth range when they pass near other Tile app users. Founded in December 2012 by Mike Farley and Nick Evans and launched via crowdfunding in 2013, Tile competes with Apple AirTag and Samsung SmartTag. Tile was acquired by family-safety and location-sharing company Life360 in a transaction valued at $205 million that closed in January 2022, and operates as a subsidiary of Life360.
