Originally founded as TRUSTe in 1997 as a nonprofit web privacy seal program, the company restructured into a for-profit venture-backed business in 2008 and rebranded to TrustArc in 2017. Its platform combines privacy management software with consulting, certification, and research services for enterprise customers. TrustArc serves more than 1,200 customers across over 25 countries, supported by a team of more than 300 employees. In October 2025, TrustArc was acquired by Main Capital Partners from Bregal Sagemount.
