Unsubscribe (Unsubscribe.com / Unsubscribe, Inc.) was a Los Angeles-area startup founded in 2010 that helped people clean up their inboxes by getting rid of unwanted mailing lists. Its flagship product was a browser plug-in / email-client button that integrated with a user's email (initially Outlook and Gmail), allowing them to unsubscribe from any mailing list with one click, or to forward unwanted mail to the service for safe removal. The company also launched a Social Monitor feature in 2011 that flagged the safety levels of applications connected to users' social media profiles. The company was founded by James Siminoff (who later founded Ring) along with Joshua Roth and Wil Schroter. It raised a $2.1M Series A led by Charles River Ventures in 2010 and was acquired by identity-protection firm TrustedID in November 2011 for undisclosed terms.
