Volocopter
Volocopter is a German developer of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for urban and advanced air mobility. Its line includes the two-seat VoloCity air taxi, the VoloRegion regional aircraft, the VoloDrone heavy-lift utility drone and the ultralight VoloXPro multicopter unveiled in April 2026. Founded in 2011 in Bruchsal, the company filed for insolvency in December 2024 and was taken over in March 2025 by Diamond Aircraft Industries, owned by China's Wanfeng Auto Holding Group. It now runs as a smaller business of roughly 180 employees, working toward EASA type certification of the VoloCity.
