The company designs and develops the VoloCity four-seater air taxi and the VoloRegion six-seater regional aircraft, as well as the VoloDrone heavy-lift utility drone. Founded in 2011, Volocopter filed for insolvency in December 2024 and was subsequently acquired by Diamond Aircraft Industries (owned by China's Wanfeng Auto Holding Group) in March 2025 for approximately EUR 10 million.
