Workmate

Workmate is a Southeast Asian on-demand staffing and workforce management platform focused on blue-collar and frontline workers. Founded in 2016 (originally as Helpster), it connects businesses with a pre-vetted pool of frontline staff for short- and long-term work across sectors including logistics and warehousing, manufacturing, food and beverage, retail, and back-office roles. The platform uses proprietary AI-scoring algorithms that weigh work experience, location, skills, and on-platform behavioral data such as attendance and supervisor ratings to improve matching quality, worker retention, and productivity. At the time of its 2022 acquisition, more than 800 companies and roughly 120,000 frontline workers were on the platform, with operations in Thailand and Indonesia and an expansion into Singapore. Workmate was acquired by PERSOL Asia Pacific (part of Tokyo-listed PERSOL Holdings) in October 2022 and continues to operate under its own branding.
