Zimeno Inc ddddd

Livermore, California, United States Agtech Acquired

Zimeno Inc., doing business as Monarch Tractor, is a Livermore, California-based agricultural technology company that designs and builds smart, fully electric, driver-optional tractors and an accompanying farm-management software platform. Founded in 2018 by Praveen Penmetsa, Mark Schwager, Carlo Mondavi, and Zachary Omohundro, the company commercialized the MK-V tractor aimed at vineyards, orchards, dairies, and specialty-crop operations, combining battery-electric drivetrains with autonomy, computer vision, and data analytics. Monarch raised more than $240 million across seed, Series A, Series B, and a $133 million Series C led by Astanor Ventures and the Foxconn Co-GP Fund in 2024, with strategic investors including CNH Industrial, Trimble Ventures, At One Ventures, and Foxconn. In 2025 the company entered a severe financial crisis, conducting multiple rounds of layoffs, losing its Foxconn manufacturing partnership, facing dealer lawsuits, and pivoting away from hardware toward a licensing/SaaS model. In early 2026 Monarch entered an assignment for the benefit of creditors, and in April 2026 its assets and core autonomous technology were acquired by Caterpillar Inc.
