Rover (roverapp.com) was a personalized content discovery application and recommendation engine, not to be confused with Rover.com the pet-care marketplace. Originally founded as InfoAxe and later rebranded to Flipora and then Rover, the company built a machine-learning recommendation engine that helped users discover online content (stories, articles and media) across thousands of topics based on their interests, and licensed its technology to power discovery on third-party news and media sites. The company and its technology were acquired by content recommendation firm Revcontent in February 2017, with the entire Rover team joining Revcontent.
