The Pill Club was a direct-to-consumer telehealth and online pharmacy company that provided birth control prescriptions, delivery, and broader women's health services across the United States. Founded in 2014 (originally as MobiMeds) by Nicholas Chang and Kevin Chung, the company offered subscription delivery of contraceptives and later expanded into primary care, emergency contraception, dermatology, and mental health services. After raising more than $100M from investors including GV (Google Ventures), Shasta Ventures, Base10 Partners, ACME, VMG Partners, and Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April 2023 following an $18.3M settlement with California over Medi-Cal billing fraud allegations. Its assets, including 100,000 patient records, were acquired by Thirty Madison in a June 2023 Section 363 sale valued at approximately $32.3M, with continuity of care continuing under Thirty Madison's Nurx brand.
